That’s right! This year I will be attending Search Engines Strategies in New York. While the SES Amsterdam is going on as I write (not attended), i’m really looking forward to my days on the SES. I have never been to New York, so that will be worth the experience as well. I’m arriving in the afternoon on the first day of the SES so I will miss most of the first day, but the other days look great too.
Things I look forward to:
- DAY2: Definitely attending Avinash Kaushik‘s keynote “Be Awesome: Ideas for Approaching Search Analytics Differently”. What a great way to start your day.
- DAY2: “Bringing SEO In-House: The Pros and Cons; since i’ve been an In-House SEO”, I wonder how they keep In-House SEO’s interesting.
- DAY2: Can’t help to only think of black hat stuff looking at the keynote “Automating Twitter”
- DAY2: Finally seeing Jim Boykin in action at “Link Building – Methods and Risks”.
- DAY2: “Real Time SEO: No More Yesterday’s News” looks very promising to me to get to know the facts for the (very) near future.
- DAY2: After this great day, what better than “White Hat Black Hat: Unconferenced” at the bar. Can’t wait!
As you can see day 2 looks very promising. But wait, there is more! Read on Mike!
- DAY3: “Eye Tracking Research Update” OR “Social Media 101″. Not sure if social media has any thing new and exciting while results of the Eye Tracking Research can really help me with some “assumptions” on CTR from the search results.
- DAY3: “21 Secrets of Top Converting Websites” is of course a mandatory keynote. Don’t worry, i’ll share the secrets with you.
- DAY3: You never can get enough of “Advanced Keyword Research”, at least in my case.
On thursday (day 4) my friend Peter van der Graaf will be the tutor of “Hands On Approach to Link Building” as the true link building guru he is. While he enrich the crowd with link building techniques, I will take the opportunity to explore NY! I got a great offer from Neel Pahlajani (whom I met at AHT International) to guide me since he is a NY resident. What an opportunity it is! So, in a few days from now i’ll be blogging (check out the great WordPress app for Android) and twittering from SES NY.
Expect more updates when i’m back…

What did you think of Jim Boykin’s session? I honestly felt he didn’t prepare as much as he should’ve and the one method wasn’t too great as is doesn’t apply to everyone. Maybe my expectations were too high. I’ll be attending the 21 Top Converting Website session as well! See you there
Hi Ross! The session of Jim Boykin wasn’t the best i’ve seen at SES unfortunately. It even raised some questions on some of his ‘tactics’, methods and theories. Brain Eisenberg was absolutely stunning. Read more about it here later. What was your favorite session Ross?
